MSU up a spot in FCS weekly poll

BOZEMAN - After their convincing 55-10 win over North Dakota (4-5) this weekend, Montana State (7-1) is bumped up one spot to number three in the Sports Network weekly FCS Top 25 Poll.

The Bobcats set a new school record with 695 total yards of offense including 436 of them on the ground Saturday which helped propel the Cats and rebound after their lone loss on the season two weeks ago against Eastern Washington (6-2).

Montana State also benefited from losses this week by Big Sky teams like Eastern Washington and Cal Poly (7-1). Eastern, the former number one ranked squad in the country, lost on the road at Southern Utah and dropped to seventh as a result. Cal Poly, one of the surprise teams this year, suffered their first loss of the season while visiting Sacramento State (6-3). The Mustangs, formerly ranked eleventh, now sit in the sixteenth spot. The other Big Sky team ranked this week is Northern Arizona (7-1) who moved up one slot to twelfth after just edging out Northern Colorado (2-6) on Saturday.

The number one team in the country this week brings North Dakota State (7-1) back to the top spot after their win over Southern Illinois. They are followed by Georgia Southern (7-1) and then MSU. The entire poll is listed below
