Montana State gave up 17 unanswered points in the second quarter and never recovered as they lost to Sam Houston State, 34-16 Friday night at Bobcat stadium. The two teams were tied at three after one quarter but then the Texans exploded in the second behind the running of Richard Sincere and the passing of Brian Bell.

De Narius McGhee got MSU back into it with an 8 yard third quarter touchdown run, but on the next MSU posession, John Ellis fumbled the ball deep in Bobcat territory. On the next play, Bell hit Chance Nelson on a 16 yard touchdown pass to make the score 27-9.

In the fourth quarter, Bell and Nelson hooked up on a 45 yard touchdown pass when safety, Joel Fuller fell down, and even though McGhee hit Ellis with a touchdown pass late in the game is was way too little, way too late, and Montana State is out of the playoffs after losing to Sam Houston State, 34-16.
