MISSOULA - Tuesday was the first day back to school after a mountain lion was spotted on Gharrett Street in the South Hills on Friday morning.
We found that students in the neighborhoods surrounding Meadow Hill Middle School and Cold Springs Elementary School that typically walk to school, didn't change their plans.
Many came with parents at their side, while others were walking with friends or alone. It was business as usual for the parents we talked to.
"I wasn't too concerned. When school is getting out or starting, there's a lot of traffic...a lot of people around, so I wasn't too worried. I'd probably be more concerned if I were at a bus stop," parent Jennifer Klumph said.
The mountain lion sighting was the first of the season in this area of South Hills.
