BUTTE - More than 500 students graduated from Montana Tech this afternoon.
The class of 2013 has students from eight countries, including the United States.
Tech honored previous alumni at the ceremony. A member of the class of 1953 was present. Robert Hark was given special recognition. He will leave Tech with three bachelor's degrees in mathematical sciences, statistics and chemistry.
Also, Gov. Steve Bullock was awarded the Honorary Associate of Science Degree at the Montana Tech Commencement ceremony.
Bullock was the keynote speaker for the class of 2013. He said he didn't remember anything his college commencement speaker said.
He gave the students seven life lessons. The last lessons was "wear your seatbelt."
He said this figuratively because he knows the students have a wild ride ahead them, but he also meant it literally.
"If all you remember to do is wear you seatbelt and you actually do so, then my agonizing over what might be worth saying to you will have been worth it," he said.
Bullock was Montana's former general and oversaw the Montana Highway Patrol.
