MISSOULA - A Deer Creek couple woke up Saturday morning to find a very special visitor in their pool.
Turns out the culprit was a calf moose who mistakenly stepped onto the covered pool on Bootlegger Trail sometime during the night.
The little guy fell in and couldn't get out, and momma moose was none too pleased. As a matter of fact, she wouldn't let the couple near the pool, so they called in the Missoula County Sheriffs Office and Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks.
Deputies herded mom away from the pool long enough for someone to pull out the exhausted calf. Its legs were looking extra wobbly, and standing was difficult for the calf, who thought about entering the pool house instead of meeting up with an upset momma.
