BIG SKY - Want to hit the slopes for a good cause?

Tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 14, is the sixth annual Turkey for a Ticket Day at Moonlight Basin. Skiers and snowboarders can bring either a turkey for 20 cans of food to Moonlight tomorrow to receive a free lift ticket.

Turkey for a Ticket is the biggest one-day food drive for the Gallatin Valley Food Bank, providing more food than any other one-day event. Last year, Moonlight collected 18.022 pounds of food for the food bank. Since the food drive started in 2007, 77,893 pounds of food have been collected.

"Thankfully, food drives like this enable us to scale up our operations to meet the need," said Lori Christenson, program manager at the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. "Turkey for a Ticket is a critical food drive that helps fill our shelves. Currently, as a one-day food drive, it generates the most donations for any one event."

Season pass holders who want to donate will receive a ticket voucher to give to a friend. Businesses can also make a one-time bulk donation to receive a voucher for every 20 pounds of food donated.
