Montana motorcyclist injured after colliding with deer

HELENA - Christopher Shelton of Helena is listed in critical condition after crashing into a deer on his motorcycle early Wednesday morning.

The collision happened on the 1600 block of Sierra Road east at about 1:20 a.m.

The collision awoke neighbors who called 911.

Shelton was airlifted to Benefis Hospital in Great Falls.

The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, but doesn't believe that speed or alcohol were factors.

Shelton, 34, was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
