WHITEFISH - A Whitefish man is still recovering in a Minnesota hospital after being badly burned in a home explosion.
Casey Malmquist was working on a home in Williston, North Dakota when the home exploded on July 8. He is still in critical condition, according to hospital staff in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
But there is some good news. His colleague Bear Barinowski said Malmquist was able to speak with his wife this weekend, and it had been hard for him to speak after the incident.
Malmquist has undergone a couple of surgeries. Everyone is optimistic about his recovery, Barinowski said.
Fire investigators believe a propane bottle near the house may have started the fire, but the exact cause of the blaze still hasn't been determined.
