BISMARK, ND - A Missoula man who told investigators that a dream led him to kidnap and kill a man in North Dakota is going to prison for the rest of his life.
The Bismarck Tribune reports a judge sentenced John Bridges, 42, of Missoula, to life in prison for killing Lee Edward Clay. Bridges admitted he committed the crime.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol found Clay dead in the back of a van parked in the median along Interstate 94 east of Bismarck on July 6, 2011. Police say Clay's injuries weren't consistent with a vehicle accident.
CBS Affiliate KXMB Bismarck reported in July that Bridges told Judge Sona Anderson in July that he wanted to plead guilty and "get this over with."
The Bismark Tribune reports South Central District Judge Cynthia Feland told Bridges Tuesday that he was a "cold and calculating individual" who had taken lives and irreparably damaged others without remorse.
