The Montana Food Bank Network has picked up a $35,000 grant to help feed the hungry across the state.
The Ford Motor Company Fund awarded the grant as part of the "Ford Focus on Child Hunger" campaign, and the donation is one of six grants being given to food banks across the Pacific Northwest.
"There is nothing more heart-wrenching than a child going hungry," said Gary Brayko, dealer at Archie Cochrane Ford in Billings. "We are thankful that Ford Motor Company Fund is taking steps to address this growing problem and Your Local Ford Store is proud to support this effort."
Montana Food Bank Network CEO Gayle Gifford said in a news release, "We are thrilled to receive this grant from Ford. Our clientele of families has increased greatly due to economic challenges, and the $35,000 Ford is donating will help us fund about 9,700 BackPack bags, which is nearly 29,000 meals for hungry kids in Montana."
