BUTTE - Preparations for the Montana Folk Festival are in full swing, and organizers are making several changes to the folk life area.
The family area, which was located at East Broadway and Arizona Street last summer, is being moved to the Butterfly Garden, according to George Everett who is organizing the event.
The Art Markets normally in the Butterfly Garden will be located directly below the Original Mine Yard.
The operations center is now located on East Broadway, according to Everett. It was previously set up in the Steward Mine Yard. Everett says the new location will make operations more efficient.
By the end of the week six stages will be set up.
"People will be working on the details up until the opening ceremony at seven o'clock on Friday evening, so there will be a lot of activity and a lot of busy, busy folks," Everett said.
The Montana Folk Festival starts Friday and continues through next Sunday.
