Montana child reportedly assaulted while walking home from school

GREAT FALLS- An 11-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted Wednesday afternoon, and Great Falls police are asking for help from the public to identify the suspect.

The girl was walking home from school at about 3:15 p.m. when she says she was assaulted near 27th Street and 6th Alley North.

The suspect is described as a white man, between 5'7" an 5'10" tall with a slim build, a goatee and wearing a Montana Grizzlies sweatshirt or jacket. It's unknown if a vehicle was involved.

Officials with the Great Falls Public School District have been alerted of the situation, and anyone with information about the assault to call police at (406) 771-1180.

They also ask parents to remain vigilant and remind their kids to always walk in pairs. Police have not yet released any other information about the reported incident.
