MISSOULA - A Missoula man who is accused of raping a 6-year-old girl has pleaded not guilty to two felony charges. Danny Wayne Johnston is being charged with two counts of sexual intercourse without consent.
Prosecutors say Johnston raped the child on two separate occasions in September, when the girl was staying with relatives. Once the child came home, her mother noticed a change in her behavior and reported the rape after her daughter told her what happened.
Investigators say Johnston told them the child initiated all the sexual contact.
During a Tuesday morning appearance in Missoula District Court, Johnston asked for a lower bail so he could go back to work.
The judge denied the request, saying Johnston wasn't obeying the rules of his probation when the rape allegations were made.
