MISSOULA - Missoula Police arrested a man who appeared in justice court Wednesday for child sex trafficking charges.
45-year-old Walter Leon Hill is facing felony charges for aggravated promotion of prostitution and sexual abuse of children.
Detective Sergeant Scott Pastian said the detective division initiated an investigation in March of this year after receiving a tip into what they believed was prostitution of underage women.
"The investigation resulted in an arrest warrant for this individual who actually fled Missoula to Rochester, New York, and we were able to use the FBI's violent crimes task force to locate and get him arrested and transported back to MT to face the charges," Pastian said.
Pastian says the Missoula Police Department has been part of the FBI Safe Streets Task force for two years now.
He says the task force is made up of multiple agencies who work together to target violent offenders.
Hill is now being held on a $100,000 bail and his preliminary hearing has been set for September 25th at 4 p.m.
