MISSOULA - The Missoula man who is accused of shooting his wife in the face Tuesday morning, allegedly told investigators he wanted to kill her, their dog and then himself.
Mark Bryon Tabish is facing an attempted murder charge.
The alleged incident happened just before 1:30 in the morning in the 1700 block of South 8th Street West.
Prosecutors say the woman told officers she was sleeping and when she woke up, her face was bleeding. She looked in the mirror, saw the gunshot wound, drove herself to the emergency room and that's where police learned about the shooting.
Officers then went to Tabish's home and arrested him. He told them he had been drinking heavily since the morning before the shooting and that he bought the ammunition less than 24 hours before. He also allegedly admitted shooting his wife with a .22 caliber rifle.
Tabish's blood alcohol content was at .328, which is more than four times the legal limit.
He's now in jail on a $500,000 bail.
