Missoula eartey trying to break chicken record

MISSOULA - The folks at Double Front Chicken are at it again, trying to break an unofficial record for most chicken sold. The downtown restaurant sold more than 2,100 chicken dinners last year, about 1½ tons total.

The owners are trying to top it Tuesday with their half price chicken dinners to help celebrate Double Front's 52nd anniversary. Lines are often nearly out the door for this annual event, so it's all hands on deck, said Jason Herndon.

"This is a lot of fun, but there's always that anticipation of is it going to work, is it going to go right, are enough people going to show up," he said. "That last day before the big sale is stressful, but hey, it's only once a year."

Double Front is open until 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
