BOZEMAN - A new restaurant is coming to downtown Bozeman.

Open Range is set to open in summer 2013. The new restaurant shares its name with the name of a cookbook by the new restaurant's owner, Jay Bentley.

Open Range will be located in the Artcraft Printers building in the 200 block of East Main Street, the block that was leveled in a March 2009 explosion.

Bentley, who also owns the Mint in Belgrade, says they are in the preliminary phases for the new restaurant. With rumors of that the Mint will close circulating on its Facebook page, Bentley said Wednesday that the Mint will continue to operate in some form and he is not planning on closing it.

Downtown Bozeman posted this picture of a sign announcing the opening of the new restaurant on its Facebook page today. Ellie Staley with the Downtown Business Partnership says the lease has been signed for the new restaurant and they are excited about the new addition, adding that it will fill a niche that is missing in downtown. Open Range will be a steakhouse offering a Western dining experience, she added.
