MISSOULA - Five men who are accused of being involved in a violent robbery and attack at a Missoula convenience store appeared in Missoula Justice Court Friday.
Two men in the group are accused of aggravated assault in the attack with baseball bats, including Andrew Badger, a former UM football player. In addition to aggravated assault, Badger is charged with robbery and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
Devon Kamaka, who played football at the University of Montana-Western, faces the same charges.
Also in court Friday on robbery charges were Kamaka's brother Ikaika and Cruz Bernardi.
The most dramatic court appearance was that of the victim, Patrick Bendig who as badly beaten in the attack at Jay's Mart. Bendig walked slowly out with a cane.
A fifth man, Timothy Parks, another former Griz player, continues to be investigated as authorities seek a sixth man, Tureadon Thibodeaux, in connection to the robbery.
