The postseason honors keep coming in for Montana State. Quarterback Denarius McGhee and Linebacker Jody Owens have been named American Football Coaches Association 1st Team All-Americans. The selection is a unique honor not only because of being named one of the best, but beacuse of the fact that the teams are selected by the coaches themselves. No journalists were involved in the selection.

Denarius was magnificent in his Junior year as the signal caller for the Bobcats. The Texas native and Big Sky Conference offesnive MVP completed 67 percent of his passes along with 22 touchdowns and just 9 interceptions. His ability to evade pressure in the pocket and extend plays helped him become MSU's all-time winningest quarterback this season as well.

Jody Owens, also from Texas has been the rock in a very talented Bobcat defense. The Big Sky Conference defensive MVP averaged over 7 tackles a game and recorded 3 sacks during the season. Owens led the MSU defense that ranked 7th in the nation in defending against the run while also allowing the fewest touchdowns inside the redzone in the Big Sky Conference.

Owens and McGhee look to lead their squad to victory over Sam Houston State in the FCS quarterfinals this Friday at 6 pm.
