MISSOULA - A man who abducted a 12-year-old Kalispell last year and taking her back to California will spend the next decade in prison.
Edgard Enrique Le, 29, of Escondido, California pleaded guilty last February to a charge of transportation with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. His guilty plea came one year after he drove to the Flathead to take the girl back to California to get married.
Federal prosecutors say the pair met online.
Le then drove to Kalispell, taking the girl from her home, sparking a massive manhunt.
The two, along with a second man, were spotted by police as they traveled through Las Vegas and were arrested at the California-Nevada border.
In Missoula federal court Thursday, Le was sentenced to 10 years in prison and 5 years of supervised release by U.S. District Judge Dana Christensen.
