LOLO - A man is recovering in the hospital after being shot in the head early Sunday after an argument at a Lolo trailer park.
Missoula County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jason Johnson says authorities were called to a trailer on Lewis & Clark Drive at around 12:15 a.m. Sunday for a reported shooting.
An initial investigation shows that two men, ages 55 and 38, were involved in an argument that became physical when one of the men pushed the other to the ground.
Johnson says the homeowner who was pushed to the ground had ordered the other man to leave his house. He then got a .22 caliber pistol that was nearby and pointed it at the other man warning him to stay away and leave his house.
The man challenged him to shoot and stepped toward the homeowner who then fired one round hitting the man in the forehead. The homeowner then administered aid until the ambulance arrived.
The man who had been shot was taken by ambulance to St. Patrick's Hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.
Johnson says they are still investigating the incident, and no charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
The names of those involved have not yet been released.
