A man drove his car into the Missouri River south of Great Falls on Friday afternoon.

The driver, whose name has not yet been released, is now facing a DUI charge.

The Montana Highway Patrol responded to the incident on old Highway 91 between Cascade and Ulm just after 4 pm.

Officials say the man, believed to be in his mid-30s, was heading toward Cascade when he attempted to make a right-hand turn.

He drove off the road and down an embankment, landing in the Missouri River.

Troopers say the man was able to get out of the car on his own and was not injured.
