A 54-year-old Pendroy man is dead after rolling his truck near Fairfield.
Montana Highway Patrol responded to the accident on US Highway 89 near mile marker 25 just after 8 a.m.
When they arrived, troopers said the single occupant of the vehicle was already dead.
They believe the accident happened just after midnight on Sunday.
Officials said the driver failed to negotiate a left-hand curve and ended up going off the roadway down into an embankment.
After hitting railroad tracks, his Chevy truck began rolling end over end before coming to a rest on its wheels.
He was not wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol and speed were not factors.
Authorities have not yet released the victim's name.
