GLENDIVE - William Schmidt, 41, was arrested in Glendive on Saturday, says Anaconda Deer-Lodge County Attorney Joan Borneman.

On November 19th, a man says he arrived at his Anaconda home and found Schmidt inside.

Schmidt reportedly pulled out a firearm and ordered the man to the basement.
Schmidt allegedly stole a 9 millimeter pistol, money and a 1999 beige GMC Sierra pickup truck from the man.

Schmidt was found by two Fish, Wildlife and Park Game Wardens in Makoshika State Park.
He held one of the wardens at gunpoint, then fled in the stolen pick-up truck.
Glendive Police Department cornered him at a baseball field near the college and talked him into surrendering.

Shmidt reportedly took the topper off the stolen Anacandon pick-up truck.

He then removed the Anaconda-Deer Lodge County lisense plates and replaced them with stolen Dawson County lisense plates.

He faces 2 felony counts in Dawson County for assault on a peace officer and 1 misdemeanor count of criminal endangerment.
He also faces felony robbery, theft and assault with a weapon in Anaconda-Deer Lodge County.

Schmidt will go through the court process in Dawson County before being extradited back to Anaconda Deer Lodge County.

He is being held on $100,000 bond in Dawson County and $100,000 bond for Anaconda-Deer Lodge County.
