Local snowmobile clubs have started grooming trails for outdoor winter recreation.
The clubs and Beaverhead-Deer Lodge National Forest employees have been grooming trails in the Butte, Jefferson and Pintler Ranger Districts.
The Mining City Trail Riders and Anaconda and Deer Lodge Snowmobile Clubs are busy grooming the trails located east of Deer Lodge, north of Butte and around Georgetown Lake.
Snowmobile maps are available at any Ranger District office.
Be sure to watch for snow and avalanche conditions and pack backcountry equipment.
