There were tense moments this afternoon after law enforcement responds to a report of a possible shooting on Interstate 90.
Two men flagged down a driver on the eastbound on-ramp of I-90 and the frontage road north of Three Forks.
The men told the driver that one of them had been shot in the leg - that's when 911 was called.
Montana Highway Patrol, Gallatin County Sheriff's Office and the Three Forks Marshals Office all responded to the scene.
It turns out the report was mistaken - and Gallatin County Undersheriff Dan Springer says he'll know more after talking to the men.
"At this point we don't have a lot of answers," Springer said. "We're not sure if there's been a gunshot wound or not, we're continuing to investigate that. We're also looking to see the possibility of what vehicle might have been involved if there was one involved."
Springer says the two men were hitchhiking to Idaho Falls.
