Laurel lawmaker shot in hunting accident

BILLINGS - A hunting accident lands a former Montana lawmaker and governor candidate in the hospital, recovering from surgery.

Sources tell Q2 News that former state senator Ken Miller of Laurel, was apparently shot in both of his ankles.

Tonight Miller is listed in fair condition at Billings St. Vincent Healthcare.

Unconfirmed reports say the former republican lawmaker was hunting today when he was injured.

Details on how Miller was injured have not been released, but Q2 has learned that he is now out of surgery, and friends tell us he is doing fine.

Miller, a Laurel businessman, served in the Montana Senate from 1994 to 2002 and was then elected chairman of the state Republican Party.

Miller ran in the primary elections for governor in 2004 and again in 2012.
