A Glendive jury returns with a guilty verdict in the deliberate homicide trial of former Billings resident Walter Larson.
Larson was convicted of killing his ex-wife Susan Casey back in April of 2008 and then dumping her body in the Yellowstone River.
The 7-woman, 5-man jury returned with its verdict around 8 pm this evening, some 5 hours after District Judge Richard Simonton gave the jury his final instructions.
This morning in the trial's sixth day, the 42-year old Larson took the witness stand in his own defense, and denied that he killed his wife or had anything to do with her disappearance some five years ago.
But the jury apparently did not believe him and returned with their unanimous decision just a little over two hours ago.
Larson showed little emotion as the verdict was read other than to hang his head. Tonight he remains in custody.
Judge Simonton said he will set Larson's sentencing for a later date.
