A K9 unit has been called in to search the Butte-Silver Bow landfill for Tammy Salle.

Anaconda Law Enforcement called off the search at the landfill this week. Their overtime budget was nearly depleted, according to Anaconda Police Chief Tim Barkell.

Two Border Collies named Saber and Jetta will take over. Saber and Jetta are traveling from Albuquerque, New Mexico, according to Wendy Kessler, president of Special Operations Inc. K9 Forensics.

On Friday Saber and Jetta will search the landfill and areas throughout Anaconda. Saber and Jetta are specifically trained for human remains detection. They have been doing this for nine years.

"If there is human there, they will find," Kessinger said. "They do not hit on animal, because we train that as a negative."

If nothing is found on Friday, Kessinger hopes to return for another search in the future.
