HELENA - A federal court judge is denying the state's motion to limit campaign contributions through the end of this election.
Judge Charles Lovell denied Montana Attorney General Steve Bullock's motion to stay after Lovell struck down Montana's campaign contribution limits last week.
Lovell wrote in his decision that "much has been made of whether striking Montana's contribution limits is good policy and good for Montana voters. This case, though, is not about policy. It is about following the law that the United States Supreme Court set out."
The state is still waiting to hear from the Ninth Circuit court because Bullock has also requested a stay from that court.
