The Gallatin Valley Food bank gets a huge boost thanks to runners.

The Huffing for Stuffing 2012 race held on Thanksgiving day raised $45,000 for the food bank. That's about $15,000 more than last year. The food bank received the money today. The money is a huge help considering this is the time of year donations are down. It takes more than half a million dollars a year to keep the food bank up and running.

"Its one of those things that you do not get everyday and with big donations like that we can do a lot with it, we can keep the lights on, we can keep the vehicles on the roads and then most importanatly we can buy that food that we're gonna need throughout the year." said Gallatin Valley Food Bank Program Director Lori Christenson.

In the past six years, huffing for stuffing has raised just over $141,000 for the food bank.
