BUTTE - Smoke could still be seen south of uptown Butte an hour after a fire was reported on Fremont Street, east of Montana Street.
Firefighters were dispatched to 16 or 18 East Fremont Street just after noon and reported seeing smoke billowing from the eaves of the building.
Reporter Katy Harris is on the scene and filed the attached picture. It is not known if anyone was in the building at the time of the fire. Smoke seemed to clear from the scene about 12:35 but began to fill the sky again by 1 p.m.
