High Wind Watch issued for SW Montana this weekend from Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening.
Strong West winds will develop as a powerful jet stream enters the state and a storm system that was typhoon Pabuk a few weeks ago enters the Gulf of Alaska.
Winds at the surface and aloft will greatly increase beginning Saturday afternoon. West winds 20-30 with gusts up to 60 mph is expected.
These strong winds will cause difficult travel conditions for high profile vehicles and difficult conditions for outdoor activities.
Now is the time to prepare for possible damaging winds by securing small objects around your home or business and plan accordingly if you have outdoor plans or travel plans this weekend. There will be periods of rain and mountain snow along with these strong winds this weekend.
I'll have the latest forecast information for you tonight at 5:30pm and 10pm on KXLF and KBZK.
