BUTTE-Butte Silver Bow inmates will see changes in a service provided for them.

Nurse services provided by the Butte Silver Bow Health Department will be going away at the detention center.

Interim Health Department Director Dan Powers says, "On call was difficult for us just with our client load within the home health agency. We were having a difficult time providing those services on a consistent basis."

The health department has been providing the services to the detention center since 2005.
But resources have become scarce and now it's time for the health department to focus their efforts on home health programs.

The Detention Center will find an alternate nursing service by March 1st.

"It's a win-win for both parties. They can have the 24/7 coverage that they need up there at times at the detention center then we can focus more with our nursing resources and other programs that we provide here," says Powers.

The health department will continue to provide nursing services at the detention center until an alternate service is brought on board.
