Potential travel weather hazard setting up Sunday into Monday. There is some uncertainty in the weather models as the EURO model and American GFS are not in good agreement with this storm systems strength. However, both models are showing increasing rain/snow event beginning Sunday.

Possible snow accumulations of 1"-4" for the valleys and 5"-8" over the mountains is possible Sunday night into Monday morning. If the storm system strengthens then heavier snow could develop for both the valleys and mountain passes Sunday night.

Another hazard will be the warming trend on Saturday into Sunday and cooling trend to follow into Monday morning. Wet roadways could ice over Sunday night as rain changes to snow.

It is still early and we will continue to monitor weather computer models over the next several days to narrow down timing and intensity of this storm system late into the weekend.

Chief Meteorologist Mike Heard will have your STORMTracker forecast tonight at 5:30pm and 10pm on KBZK and KXLF.
