Halloween happenings around Bozeman

Businesses are getting ready to hand out treats to little ghosts and goblins.

Here are some happenings for the Bozeman area this Halloween:

- The Gallatin Valley Mall's trick or treat starts at 5 and goes until 8 p.m.

Infants up to kids 12 years old are invited to enter their costumes in the 32nd annual contest, Registration starts at 5 p.m. and the contest starts at 6 p.m. in the JoAnn's Court.

Greater Gallatin United Way and Montana State University will be at the mall along with some Bobcat athletes to emphasize Lights on After School programs, including kids LINK, which has 24 sites in four counties including Gallatin. About 2,000 children are enrolled and over 1,100 attend the programs every day. They're doing one free photo per family or group too.

KBZK will be handing out trick-or-treat bags at the mall.

- Downtown Bozeman invites people to come down for trick or treating at over 150 businesses.

It starts at 3 p.m. and runs until 6 p.m.

Hot drinks are available at the Downtown Visitors Center at 8 East Main.

It's free and open to the public, snow or shine.

- Alpha Gamma Delta sorority will hold its Trick or Treat for Change to raise money for the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, which supports diabetes research and awareness and helps sisters in need.

They'll be collecting Halloween night from 7 to 9 p.m. Last year they raised $2,500.

- AAA in Bozeman is handing out Halloween treats, including safety glow sticks through 5:30 p.m. on Halloween.

AAA in Bozeman's office is in Bridger Peaks along 19th Avenue.
