Gun tied to Lockwood shooting believed to be found

LOCKWOOD - Detectives with the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office recovered a gun they believe was used in a shooting in Lockwood Tuesday morning.

The gun, along with several other items of evidence, was recovered after serving search warrants.

The incident occurred at 1270 Lockwood Road shortly after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. The victim is an adult male whose name has not been released, with authorities saying he was shot while at his business. The victim was given medical attention at a local hospital for non life threatening injuries.

A suspect has been identified, but authorities are not releasing a name at this time as local law enforcement actively looks for the person.

According to Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder, more search warrants are being applied for as the investigation continues.
