MISSOULA - The Grizzlies didn't only leave Cheney, Washington with a heartbreaking loss, their top running back also suffered an injury. Dan Moore has a high ankle sprain and will miss this weekend's game at Northern Colorado.

Coach Mick Delaney says he doesn't know how long Moore will sit out. He also revealed that the Grizzlies leading rusher has a broken bone in his foot to go along with the new injury.

Moore left the game against Eastern Washington in the first quarter, but the running game continued just fine without him. Peter Nguyen and Jordan Canada led the way to a 400 yard rushing effort against the Eagles.

One UM player feels they can absorb the hit of losing their biggest back.

"All our running backs are play makers, they're just different types of play makers. Dan (Moore) can be the more powerful guy that can break tackles. And then maybe they plan for that, and we have Peter (Nguyen) and Jordan (Canada) go in and they're agility guys. They are making guys miss left and right, and they're explosive down the field," quarterback Trent McKinney said.

Montana will try to end a two game losing skid without Moore when they battle the Bears of Northern Colorado at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
