GREAT FALLS - A Great Falls woman is behind bars after allegedly stabbing an acquaintance over the weekend.
The incident happened just before midnight on Saturday on the east end of town.
40-year-old Tracy Schildt appeared in court today for a charge of felony assault with a weapon.
Great Falls Police were called to a residence on the 4800 block of 2nd Avenue North where they found a man sitting in his kitchen with a stab wound to his side.
The victim and his wife told police that Schildt had been visiting their house when an argument broke out and Schildt reportedly stabbed the man.
Officers found Schildt a few blocks away, allegedly trying to hide behind a tree with the knife stuck in the ground nearby. Schildt has an extensive criminal history including felony convictions for drugs, robbery, burglary, and assaulting an officer.
