GREAT FALLS - A Great Falls airman wanted in Delaware for allegedly raping a child under the age of 12 made his initial appearance in court this afternoon.

Jonathan James Karasevich, 24, was arrested without incident at Malmstrom Air Force Base on Friday after the Cascade County Sheriff's Office said it was contacted by the police department in Harrington, Delaware.

The Delaware police said that Karasevich was in Great Falls and that he was wanted for more than a dozen counts of third-degree rape involving a victim under the age of 12.

During Tuesday's court appearance, Karasevich waived his right to an extradition hearing.

According to Delaware court documents, after the alleged assaults, Karasevich enlisted in the United States Air Force.

He was serving on active duty at Malmstrom AFB at the time of his arrest and is being held without bond in the Cascade County Detention Center.
