BUTTE - A Glendive woman is charged with DUI refusal after nearly crashing into the Butte-Silver Bow Detention Center on Saturday, according to Undersheriff George Skuletich of Butte-Silver Bow Law Enforcement.
Julie Riojas, 34, was driving north on Montana Street around 8:30 p.m. The four-lane street becomes two-lane traffic near the intersection of Quartz and Montana streets. Riojas failed to merge into the left-hand lane and drove straight through the guard rail, Skuletich said.
Riojas damaged the guard rail and tore down a tree. Her vehicle was damaged. She was unharmed.
Riojas is also charged with misdemeanor careless driving.
