You may have noticed fewer cents a gallon at the pump over the past few days - that's because gas prices are down across the state and they will continue to go down.
Montana, in comparison to the rest of the country though, is still 20 cents higher than the national average which is about $3.35 per gallon.
AAA Regional Manager Rich Russell said, "There's a number of reasons - one of the primary reasons recently has been the Sinclair Fire in Wyoming which put a restriction on some of the resources available for our region and our area and that contributed to the higher prices."
Due to changing travel demands, AAA says gas prices should continue on a downward trend more or less until next Labor Day.
