KALISPELL - An investigation is underway into the death of a Flathead Valley Community College student who died after falling from scaffolding during a Building Trades class.

An ambulance took the victim to Kalispell Regional Medical Center after the fall, where he later passed away.
Karas says safety is the school's first priority, and added that they are working with investigators to determine what happened.
"We are working closely with the sheriff's department, and it's a very sad day - and all of our thoughts and prayers go out to the student's family. It's just something we hope we never have to deal with, and unfortunately it's a very sad, sad situation; very tragic," Karas told us.
Karas added that she appreciates all the efforts of first responders in caring for the student.
The Flathead County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
