MISSOULA - The woman who was severely injured by a captive deer on her Florence property Tuesday is still in the hospital, recovering from the attack.
The 84-year-old woman is still in stable condition, but Ravalli County Undersheriff Perry Johnson told us that she has had surgery, and the attack left her with substantial injuries.
The buck charged the woman when she opened the pen that he was kept in. The deer was later euthanized by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials.
It is illegal to possess live game animals under Montana state law.
