Two parents in the Mining City have something extra to be proud of on top of their new baby.

Little Joseph Lapka is the first baby to be born in St. James Hospital for the year of 2013. Weighing in at 8 pounds 15 ounces and at 21 inches long, Joseph came into the world at around 12:45 pm yesterday. The parents, Rory and Jessica had no idea Joseph was the first until after he was born and then donations of gift baskets and clothing from local businesses started showing up in their hospital room.

"We were very surprised," said Rory and Jessica, "And blessed, we felt blessed and I cried tears of joy.
"It was amazing because we felt completely blessed and very surprised. So we really appreciate that.
"And the staff at St. James was wonderful.
"Yes the staff here was amazing so thank you so much."

We at Montana Television Network offer our heartfelt congratulations to you Rory and Jessica.
