MISSOULA - The Montana Food Bank has partnered with Missoula's cross country bike races for the first time this year and organizers say the new partnership is the beginning of a beautiful thing.
Nearly 2,000 people gathered at Marshall Mountain for the Big Sky BBQ Festival on Saturday, with food, beer, entertainment, sunshine and cross country bike racing all being part of the event.
Montana Food bank Network Gayle Gifford says this year is the first time the food bank has moved off location to partner with another function at the same time.
"It's worked out so well, by having two organizations, of course, get together and have an event like this it's so big that it does take a lot of people together to put this thing on, so it's made it a lot easier for us at the Montana Food Bank Network knowing that we have a partner to do this."
Gifford says all benefits from the festival benefit the Montana Food Bank. Admission to the event was free and it was open to the public.
