MISSOULA - The proposed across-the-board federal sequestration reductions could hit school-based health care centers.

Right now, construction is underway for the Lowell School Health Center. Funding is secure for the Missoula site, despite the proposed spending cuts.

But Partnership Health Center Board Members are fearful that possible reductions could stop future health care centers from being built statewide.

Partnership board member Starla Gade says the center will provide Lowell students and their immediate family with health, dental and behavioral services, which contribute to a youngster's performance and well being.

"It means the difference between night and day for these students, they will be able to continue with a strong education, because of a strong health."

Gade says they hope to finish construction on the center in late spring.
