MISSOULA - Senator Max Baucus wrapped up his ‘Montana Solutions Jobs Tour' on Thursday with a stop in Missoula, before ending at the Montana Tech Campus in Butte, the site of the 2013 Montana Economic Development Summit.
He announced that Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg will headline the summit in Butte, which is set for Sept. 16 and Sept. 17. Sandberg was listed among TIME Magazine's The World's 100 Most Influential People of 2012.
"It's my job to get the right investors in the door, and from there Montana businesses blow them away with all the exciting things they are doing across the state," Baucus said in a news release.
"When it comes to big names, they don't get much bigger than Sheryl Sandberg and Facebook. Having a business leader of Sheryl's caliber in Big Sky Country will help put Montana on the map as a growing hub for technology and innovation," he added.
Sandberg previously served at the World Bank and Chief of Staff for the U.S. Treasury Department. In 2001, Sandberg joined Google as a Vice President of Global Online Sales & Operations where she oversaw sales of Google's advertising and publishing products and launched Google's philanthropic arm.
