ANACONDA - Anaconda residents will send out plea letters asking for donations from the community to save the Daly Gym, according to Laureen Hensley, co-organizer for the "Save the Daly Gym" effort.
The Daly Gym, attached to the old Anaconda Junior High, is in poor shape, according to Hensley.
The building is not structurally sound. Over the past few years small earthquakes have caused the south west corner of the building to settle. Two and half classroom require repairs, which could cost up to $400,000.
Organizers hope to host two fundraisers in the spring. Hensley said they will sell "Save the Daly" T-shirts. If they can raise the funds they hope to turn the building into a community center or a film school
