THOMPSON FALLS - Sanders County prosecutors say they will not be seeking the death penalty in the brutal murder of a Dixon man.
Nathan Calvert pleaded not guilty in Sanders County District Court on Tuesday afternoon to murder, attempted murder, robbery and aggravated burglary.
He's accused of killing Doug Morigeau and slitting his wife's throat in what appears to be a random attack.
Prosecutors say Calvert was high on a synthetic marijuana drug called "Spice" when he attacked the couple in their Dixon home on Dec. 6.
Calvert is expected to undergo a mental evaluation in March, and his next court appearance is set for April 16.
